Broadoaks School offers students opportunities to continue their educational enrichment after school, as well as options for care before and after the school day.

Before & After School Programs

The Broadoaks School provides working families with safe, educational, and flexible surround care options that allow children to thrive beyond the bell.

Preschool Surround Care
Offered in the morning from 8:15 a.m. to 9:15 a.m.

Kindergarten through 8th Grade Surround Care
Morning care for K-8 is available from 7:15 a.m. to 8:50 a.m.

Afternoon care varies by grade
Kindergarten 2:45 p.m. – 4:30 p.m.
First and Second Grades 2:55 p.m. – 4:30 p.m.
Third and Fourth Grades 3:05 p.m. – 4:30 p.m.
Fifth Grade 3:15 p.m. – 4:30 p.m.
Sixth, Seventh and Eighth Grades 3:30 p.m. – 4:30 p.m.

Program offerings, start and end times are subject to change based on Public Health guidelines.

After School Enrichment

Broadoaks believes that learning and exploration occur always, and the After School Enrichment program gives children an opportunity to experience the Broadoaks education beyond the end of the school day.

A rich and diverse selection of courses, taught by Broadoaks teachers, Whittier College faculty, or trusted organizations, are offered each trimester during the school year. Each course begins after the end of the school day one day per week and lasts for one hour.
Class offerings are published at the beginning of the school year, in the winter, and in the spring. Classes take place in-person on the elementary campus. A single class runs during one of the trimester terms for seven to eight sessions (see schedule below).

Course fee: $350

A course must meet minimal enrollment of six children. To register your child for a course, use this form.Registration closes November 15 at 5 p.m.

Bakers Adventures

The popular baking class returns, and Mrs. Ybarra will be baking goodies with the middle school students!

Young chefs will learn the basics of baking, cutting, mixing and measuring through fun hands-on activities. Students will make mouth-watering goodies while unleashing their creativity. Grades 7th & 8th only.

Groove to the East
Chinese Hip-Hop Jazz Fusion!

Enjoy the vibrant rhythms of hip-hop and jazz with the rich cultural movements of Chinese dance. Broadoaks students will explore energetic dance routines, build confidence, and express themselves through a unique fusion of styles. Join us for a fun-filled journey where culture and creativity collide on the dance floor! Grades K – 4th.

Tuesday Classes

Meets: December 3, 10, 17; January 7, 14, 21, 28; February 4

Collaging 101
This course will introduce students to the art of collaging! This fun medium helps students understand that art can be made from anything and will increase their abilities to see the possibilities that may arise from discarded items. Grades K – 2nd.

Thursday Classes

Meets: December 5, 12; January 9, 16, 23; February 6, 13, 20

Robotics – Lego Mindstorm!

Robotics classes break down complex STEM concepts into hands-on lessons for kids of all ages. 3rd & 4th graders will engage in active learning using Lego Mindstorm Robotics to learn math and computer science concepts. This will be a fun, hands-on class that will help to develop critical STEM skills for elementary aged children. 3rd & 4th grades only.
