Broadoaks School is proud to regularly connect with its community while educating its students about the world around them.

That tradition continued last week with a fun visit from Mayor of Whittier Joe Vinatieri. At the monthly community town hall, Vinatieri was interviewed by 7th grader Mikaela B. about what it’s like being the mayor of the city.

Mikaela proved a wonderful host, and Mayor Joe an engaging and informative guest for the Broadoaks students. Vinatieri even presented his audience with some free Whittier swag!

Broadoaks community town halls meet the first Friday of every month, each featuring a special guest, games, music, and more. Recent guests have included Masahiro Yamada, a kinesiology professor at Whittier College who engaged students with exercise research equipment, and Kay Sanders, a Whittier College professor of child development.
