Updates from Student Council

WHITTIER, Calif. (January 5, 2018) — Hello, parents!  We are the Broadoaks Student Council.  Recently, we have done a lot to help our community and we learned how to be better leaders in school.  Student Council would like to thank you all for your support during Socktober. Thanks to your willingness to help those in need, Broadoaks students and staff donated 928 pairs of socks for our local homeless families. We collected 634 pairs of socks for children, 135 pairs for women, and 159 pairs for men. Wow!! What a big difference Broadoaks can make!

In November we met with a representative from UNICEF.  He gave us some insights into international leadership.  We learned so much about the United Nations and how important it is.

In addition, spirit week in December was a huge success!  We brainstormed ideas with the help of some of our schoolmates.  Student council also helped get the word out about the Whittier College Food Drive this past December and placed collection boxes in every classroom. Thank you for all of your food donations!

Student Council reminds everyone to sprinkle kindness each day! We hope you all have a happy new year!
