WHITTIER, Calif. (September 2, 2016) — Broadoaks Summer Program ended with a bang with fantastic singing and dancing by our students during this year’s “Broadoaks on Stage” performance. Throughout the summer students participated in exciting academies, such as the Broadoaks Olympics and Commedia dell’arte. During the Olympic Ceremony, teachers recognized students for their participation in various sporting events—volleyball, basketball, hurdles, and relays, just to name a few. At the Commedia dell’arte performance, students displayed their learning about different types of masks and how this genre of masked theatre has evolved since 16th Century Italy. Additional highlights included sewing, art, digital world, physics, engineering, weekly Block Parties, dance parties, shaved ice, Wacky Wednesdays, trips to the Campus Inn, tie-dye, and, of course, the bowling and Knott’s Berry Farm field trips! We are already starting to plan for summer 2017!
