WHITTIER, Calif. (December 16, 2015) —
Thank you to all who donated to the Broadoaks Food Drive. The Broadoaks Student Council, led by faculty advisors Andrea Bautista and Mark Martinez, spearheaded the collection of canned and dry food items in conjunction with the Whittier College Food Drive, sponsored by the Leadership Experience and Programs Office (LEAP) on campus. Student Council members visited classrooms to talk about the project and the importance of community service, especially during the holiday season. This year the LEAP Office hopes to feed 1,300 local families with your generous donations. Donations will go to the Interfaith Food Center to be distributed to local families in need.
On December 16 the Broadoaks Student Council visited Brookdale Senior Living in Uptown Whittier, formerly The Chateau at Whittier. Students shared stories and played games with the residents of Brookdale. Thank you, Student Council, for making a difference this holiday season through your service to our local community!
