WHITTIER, Calif. (October 31, 2016) — Broadoaks students and OMEP-Whittier College received the 2016 Education for Sustainable Development Award at a conference in Seoul Korea in July. This marked the first time undergraduate students or children have received this award and the first it has gone to Americans.
Science continues as the primary focus of the school’s 2016-17 professional development program, funded in part by a Title II grant. Sustainability remains as the school-wide theme and essential questioning is the pedagogical focus. Our preschool teachers will present their work on sustainability during the National Association for the Education of Young Children Conference in Los Angeles in early November.
