WHITTIER, Calif. (October 31, 2016) — What force causes roller coasters to move? How are potential and kinetic energy exerted in a roller coaster? Our eighth graders engaged with these and other scientific questions during their field trip to the California Science Center on October 21. They also got a peek into the Pixar filmmaking process during the unique Science Behind Pixar Exhibition. The exhibition included hands-on activities teaching about the science, technology, engineering and math (STEM) that artists and scientists use when creating these movies. The learning continued with the 3D movie A Beautiful Planet, showcasing Earth’s stunning views captured by the International Space Station. What an inspiring experience for our students and teachers!
