WHITTIER, Calif. (April 21, 2017) — Last week the eighth graders played Industrial Revolution board games they had designed with their groups. After researching the Industrial Revolution, the groups created games to challenge their peers’ knowledge of this important period in history. What a fun way to bring history alive!
The fun and games doesn’t stop there! The seventh graders continue to code across the curriculum using Scratch, an MIT Media Lab project. Students have also been introduced to ThingLink, an interactive image and video platform used for various presentations. Students are also becoming quite proficient with such programs as HyperDocs, Quizlet, and Padlet. Each day Broadoaks students are strengthening their 21st century learning skills, focusing on collaboration and teamwork, creativity and imagination, critical thinking, and problem solving.
