On Wednesday, August 5, we received information from the Los Angeles County Public Health Department that Los Angeles County will not consider school re-opening waivers at this time, per state guidance. The California Department of Public Health recommends counties with case rates at or above 200 cases per 100,000 residents not extend waivers for the re-opening of classroom instruction for students in grades TK-6. LA County’s case rate currently is 355 per 100,000.
Based on this information, we will begin the school year with remote learning via Zoom for Kindergarten through eighth grade and continue through the fall term. We have made the decision to remain remote for all of fall to enable families to plan accordingly and so we can focus our efforts on planning for an even stronger remote program.
For the 2020-21 Academic Year, Broadoaks will offer some flexibility for our families.
