The LA County Department of Public Health has not yet issued reopening guidelines for schools. We are therefore canceling Session 2 of our summer program. We know this is a disappointment for many families but please know we will focus our efforts on preparing the classrooms for a safe reopening in September.
We have reviewed the newly released California Department of Public Health (CDPH) COVID-19 Industry Guidance for Schools, the Centers for Disease Control’s (CDC) Considerations for Schools, the Los Angeles County Office of Education’s (LACOE) Planning Framework for the 2020-2021 School Year as well as the California Department of Education’s Stronger Together Guidance.
We are aware of the three most likely scenarios for fall–remote learning, in-person learning, and a hybrid of remote and in-person learning. We still must await the official guidelines set forth by the LA County Department of Public Health. Our goal remains to have all of the students physically on campus with us each day. We will implement required social distancing, required face coverings, and daily health screenings. We will reopen when we are allowed and are confident that we can do so safely based on LA County Public Health guidelines.
