Broadoaks Students Shine

WHITTIER, Calif. (December 15, 2016) — The Broadoaks Children’s Choir and Showstoppers! spread holiday cheer once again with their fabulous performances at the Whittier College Holiday Dinner on December 2 and 3, singing tunes such as “The Lion Guard” and “December Nights, December Lights.”   The two talented groups’ next stop was the Shannon Center for the Broadoaks Fall Musicale Holiday Music Celebration on December 7, 2016. Kindergarten and sixth-grade also shined on stage during the Fall Musicale with their musical talents. Hundreds of friends and families listened to classic holiday favorites like “Mele Kalikimaka,” as well as clapped to the beat of the sixth-grade’s first drumming performance of the year.

A BIG THANK YOU to Dr. Stephen Cook, Associate Professor-Department of Music at Whittier College and Director of the Broadoaks Children’s Choir and Showstoppers!, and to Danilo Lozano, Professor of Music at Whittier College and Instructor of the sixth-grade drumming class. The confidence and success of our students in the performing arts is a testament to the magic our college faculty create when they work with our children.
